The Case of the Velvet Claws

The Case of the Velvet Claws - Erle Stanley Gardner The plot is all right, lots of daring twists and a neat resolution. But the writing is godawful - sloppy grammar and word usage, inefficient dialogue - all in all, reads like a hastily slapped together job by a novice.
But lots of good series show these drawbacks in the beginning, so I'm willing to give it a second chance.
